As a Christian who values strong emotional experience and rigorous rational thought I would identify myself as a reformed charismatic, with a heart for cross cultural mission, who desperately wants to know and love Jesus and others better. In this book I will not be arguing for the role of emotion as sole interpreter of reality, or falling into the abyss of process theology, but seek to give emotion more weight in understanding our view of reality. More specifically, I hope to shed light on the false distinction between reason and emotion and show how this gives us substance to better understand and know God. This book will argue for a theology of emotions that balances reason and emotion in a purple, biblically approved, faithfully honest, psychologically integrative, and theologically composite way.
